Motivation: There is a waste-management crisis in Bangalore. The lack of waste segregation at the source made disposal harder. I redesigned a trash can so that homeowners could better segregate waste.

The solution I designed (pictured below) features the following advantages:

• A central pole, around which 3 containers- each for a different type of waste- revolve.
• Saves Floor Space
• Requires the purchase of only one trash can
• The height of the segment can be varied depending on the setting. This currently would need to be done during manufacturing, but future work could involve an automated extension and contraction system for each compartment.
